Ativan is an anti-anxiety agent that causes mild suppression of REM sleep, while increasing total sleep time. It belongs to the Benzodiazepine family as with diazepam, alprazolam, clonazepam, flurazepam and others.

Indications:

Ativan is used in the management of anxiety disorders and for relief of short-term symptoms of anxiety. It is also used for preanesthetic medication to sedate and reduce anxiety in the event of a surgery. Ativan is also known to be used for the management of status epilepticus. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by the physician.

How to take:
